Pedro Azenha led the charge as he pounded a match-best 17 kills while hitting a scorching .609 on the night. He also responded with three aces.
Setter Brian Beckwith picked apart the Triton defense as he dished out 39 assists in 63 attempts for a .619 average.
UH's Kyle Klinger and Lauri Hakala had big nights in rare starting roles. Klinger hit .583 with eight kills, while Hakala added eight kills and hit .500. Klinger was the big man as he was in on five blocks.
As a team, UH out blocked UCSD 10.5 to 2.5, while hitting a sizzling .506 to UCSD's .202.
Adam Toren led the UCSD offense with a team-high 13 kills.
Hawai`i improved to 14-6 overall and 10-5 in the MPSF, while UC San Diego fell to 1-18 and 0-15 MPSF.
The two teams meet again Friday at 5 p.m. HST.
