HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (29-18, 12-10 WAC) fell to the Fresno State Bulldogs (23-28, 11-11) 7-2 in front of a crowd of 2,189 at the Les Murakami Stadium Thursday. Ricky Bauer (8-3) took the loss while Matt Garza (5-2) got the win for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Nick Moresi hit a two-run single to right. Hawai`i would eventually tie it up in the fifth as Finegan drove in and scored a run, making it 2-2.

But Fresno State then had their big inning in the sixth, scoring four runs on two doubles, a triple and three singles in the inning, making it 6-2. The Bulldogs added one more insurance run in the top of the ninth while their defense contributed two big double plays to stop potential Rainbow rallies, giving them the 7-2 victory.
