HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (9-5) defeated the San Francisco Dons (3-7) 5-0 on a complete-game shutout by
Ricky Bauer, in the first game of a double-header at the Les Murakami Stadium Saturday. Bauer (4-1) got the win, giving up just six hits with four strikeouts. Kevin Rose (1-2) took the loss for USF.
Brian Finegan led the way for the 'Bows at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run. Nathan Thurber went 1-for-1 with a double, one RBI and one run.
Hawai`i started it off in the second inning, smacking a double down the left-line, scoring Crieghton Kahoalii, to go up 1-0. Gregory Kish then hit a sacrifice fly to score Andrew Sansaver, making it 2-0.
The Rainobows then added a run in the third as Joshua Green drove in Finegan, making it 3-0. They added insurance runs in the fourth and sixth innings, making the final score 5-0.
The second game of the double-header was scheduled to start at 5:05 p.m.
