Timothy Montgomery also had a good game, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, two RBI and a run.

Hawai`i came out with a big first inning as Cook and Russo hit back-to-back RBI-doubles, putting UH up 2-0. Montgomery would then triple in a run before Isaac Omura drove in another, making the score 4-0 after one inning of play.

The 'Bows would again score four runs in the second inning as Finegan, Andrew Sansaver, Cook and Montgomery would drive in runs, running the lead to 8-0 after two innings.

The Vulcans would score three runs in the third to cut the deficit to five runs, but it wasn't enough as the Hawai`i's six pitchers held UH-Hilo to four runs on just three hits while combining for 13 strikeouts. Richard Olsen pitched two perfect innings, while Michael Peck and Bryan Lee would add a perfect inning each, aiding the Rainbows to victory.

Hawai`i will next host Fresno State in a Western Athletic Conference series starting Friday, April 18, at 6:35 p.m. UH is scheduled to pitch Ricky Bauer against the Bulldogs' Cody Smith
