SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (15-31, 4-16) fell to the San Jose State Spartans (38-13, 16-7) in front of 445 fans at Municipal Stadium Saturday. Jahseam George (8-1) got the victory while 
Sean Yamashita (2-7) picked up the loss for Hawai`i.
Hawai`i jumped out to an early lead, as Gregg Omori tripled in Lane Nogawa to give the Rainbows the 1-0 advantage in the first inning. The two starters then kept the bats in check before a Rainbow error opened the flood gates in the third inning, as San Jose State scored five unearned runs.
Hector Zamora then shot a two-run home run out over the right field fence in the fourth inning. Kevin Frandsen then drove in another run in the fourth to put the Spartans up 8-1.
San Jose State then added three more runs in the fifth before Julian Russell hit a two-run double off the left field wall to cut the lead to 11-3.
Bryan Baker then added a homer over the left field wall in the bottom of the seventh inning to extend the lead to 12-3. The Spartans were able to add another run in the bottom of the eighth before the Rainbows were able to get one run in the top of the ninth to make the final score 13-4.
Omori led the 'Bows with a 2-for-4 day with a triple and an RBI. Julian Russell also hit 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
The same two teams will face off tomorrow at 1 p.m. PDT with Ricky Bauer of UH and Matt Durkin of San Jose State being the pitchers.
