DOMINANCE ON THE MOUND

The Rainbow Warriors' pitching staff showed phenomenal stuff on the mound throughout the 2026 season, finishing with one of the top ERAs in the Big West and ranking among the nation’s best staffs. Behind contributions from Isaiah Magdaleno, Hekili Robello, Tsubasa Tomii, John Alkire II, Brody Martin-Grudzielanek, Grant Garman, and others, Hawai‘i consistently relied on dominant pitching performances all season long. From Friday night starts to late-inning bullpen work, the ’Bows put together one of the strongest pitching seasons in recent program history.

MASTERFUL MAGDALENO

Isaiah Magdaleno All America x2

Junior ace Isaiah Magdaleno emerged as one of the most dominant pitchers in the country after transitioning from the bullpen into the Friday night starter role. Magdaleno put together a historic campaign that included a pair of All-America honors, four Big West Pitcher of the Week recognitions, multiple National Pitcher of the Week awards, and 116 strikeouts in just 95.1 innings with a 2.36 ERA. His late-season run was especially unforgettable, highlighted by back-to-back complete-game one-hit shutouts, including a 16-strikeout masterpiece against UC Riverside and a 14-strikeout gem against CSUN. Week after week, Magdaleno gave the ’Bows a chance to win, establishing himself as one of the premier arms in program history while etching his name alongside Hawai‘i legends like Derek Tatsuno and Gerald Ako.

HONORING A LEGEND

The 2026 season also featured one of the most meaningful nights in program history, as legendary head coach Les Murakami was officially honored following his induction into the College Baseball Hall of Fame. In front of a sold-out crowd at Les Murakami Stadium, over 50 former players, coaches, and staff members returned to celebrate the man who built Hawai‘i baseball into a national powerhouse. The ’Bows capped the night with a 4-2 victory over the Wichita State Shockers.
