Biography

2013 (Senior): A third-team All-American pick for the second straight year…also an all-Big West first team selection… second on the team in goals scored with 64…led the team in kick-outs drawn (88)…also added 13 assists and 25 steals…had the second-highest shooting clip (.485) on the squad…scored in all but four matches she appeared in…named Big West Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks….first honor came after she exploded for a career seven goals in a win over Colorado State (Apr. 7)…highest output by a Rainbow Wahine in 2013 and third-highest in school history…won the honor again after scoring a team-high five goals in a win over Cal State Northridge (Apr. 13) that helped UH clinch a share of the Big West regular-season title…was particularly clutch when it counted, scoring three of her goals in the decisive fourth and final quarter to rally UH from a 7-6 deficit…. voted to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America at-large second team and All-District 8 at-large team… the first Rainbow Wahine water polo player to earn such honors…also presented the Elite 89 Award, given to the player in the NCAA Tournament who holds the highest GPA… named academic all-Big West…an ACWPC all-academic honoree for the fourth straight year…departed UH  third all-time in goals scored (185).

2012 (Junior): Named to the all-MPSF second-team…finished the season second in conference goal scoring with a 2.28 gpm average…played in all 25 matches...led the team in goals with 57…also led with 80 kick-outs drawn…tallied 28 steals and 10 assists…scored a career-high six goals against UC San Diego (Mar. 18)…had 14 multiple-goal matches...an MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete...

2011 (Sophomore): Played in all 27 matches…was the team’s fourth leading scorer with 32 goals and 1.19 goals per game….third on the team with 19 assists…also tallied 31 kick-outs drawn and 13 steals... recorded three hat tricks on the season—versus UCLA (Feb. 5) at the Stanford Invitational; versus Arizona State (Apr. 16) at home; and against San Diego State (Apr. 30) in the team’s lone win at the 2011 MPSF Championships… an MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete.

2010 (Freshman): Named to the MPSF All-Freshman team…played in all 26 matches…scored a total of 30 goals ranking fourth on the team with a 1.15 goals per match average…scored five goals in three MPSF Tournament games…led the team with 36 kick-outs drawn…also tallied 19 assists and 16 steals…scored a career-high five goals in a 23-3 victory over Concordia (Mar. 28) at the Arizona State Invitational…led the team with three goals in a 7-4 victory over Arizona State (May 1) at the MPSF Tournament.  

Prep: A 2009 graduate of Gymnasium Camphusianum in Gorinchem, Netherlands...a three-year member of Widex GZC Donk water polo club...team took second-place European Youth Championships in 2006 and at the World Youth Championships in 2009. 

Personal: Born in Gorinchem, Netherlands...intends to major in kinesiology...has one brother and four sisters including former Rainbow Wahine Dagmar Genee...parents are Marysha and Brucht Genee of Gorinchem, Netherlands.
