Biography

2008 (Cross Country): Competed in one meet - WAC Championships, where she finished 63rd (22:43.4).

2008 (Track): Earned All-America honors after finishing sixth in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championship with a school-record 5,670 points...earned All-America status in the pentathlon after finishing fourth at the NCAA Indoor Championship with a personal-best total of 4,177 points...broke school-record for most NCAA appearances (five)...captured third straight WAC outdoor title in the heptathlon...won bronze in the javelin with a throw of 149-7...also placed ninth in the shot put and 10th in the long jump...repeated as WAC champion in the pentathlon at the WAC Indoor Championship...won bronze in the high jump and finished seventh in the long jump...named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America second team for the second straight year...also selected to the USTFCCCA, WAC, and all-District VIII academic teams.

2007 (Cross Country): Set personal best at WAC Championship on 5k course (20:45)...also competed at the Big Wave and Willamette Invitationals.

2007 (Track): Became the first UH athlete to qualify for both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships...placed ninth in the heptathlon with a school-record 5,649 points at outdoor nationals...finished 11th in the pentathlon at indoor nationals...captured the gold medal in the heptathlon at the WAC Outdoor Championship for the second consecutive year...also qualified for the NCAA West Regionals in both the high jump and javelin events...placed 12th in the javelin and 14th in the high jump...also won gold in the pentathlon at the WAC Indoor Championship...set new school record in the pentathlon (4,039 pts.) at the UW Invitational...ranked eighth in Trackwire's Dandy Dozen...named to the USTFCCCA and WAC all-academic teams.

2006 (Cross Country): Competed in two meets...placed 26th at the Big Wave Invitational (16:57.1)...also competed in the Charles Bowles Invitational.

2006 (Track): Captured the gold medal in the heptathlon at the WAC Outdoor Championship...score of 5,374 points was a new UH record and qualified her for the NCAA Championship...placed 17th at the NCAAs with a score of 5,191 points...broke UH heptathlon event records for six of the seven events...team leader in three individual events; long jump (17-6.75), triple jump (38-4.25), and javelin (141-3)...won the silver medal in the pentathlon at the WAC Indoor Championship...broke school indoor records for the triple jump (39-0.5), pentathlon (3,741 points), and all five pentathlon events...named to academic all-WAC team. 

2005 (Cross Country): Competed in four of six meets...finished 25th at the BYU-Hawai'i Invitational...competed in the WAC Championships.

Prep: A graduate of SportGymnasium Jena in Thuringia, Germany...1998/99 heptathalon German Champ...German University champ in shotput and relay. 

Personal: Born in Jena, Thuringia, Germany...intends to double-major in kinesiology and psychology...has one older brother...parents are Hannelore and Dieter Wichmann of Jena, Thuringia, Germany...greatest athletic accomplishment is being the 2001 U18 WC in Hungary.
