Biography

2010 (Cross Country): Competed in seven meets and placed among the team's top 5 in four meets …posted a personal best 5K time of 18:12.8 at the Willamette Invitational which placed her 117th overall…was the team’s second top finisher at the HPU Invitational “B” with a 5K time of 20:03 which placed her 11th overall… posted a 5K time of 19:53.64 at the WAC Championships which placed her 58th overall.

2010 (Track): Team-best time of 4:50.46 in the 1500-meters at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival (March 26)…also posted season-best time of 2:20.45 in 800-meters at the SFSU Distance Carnival…member of distance medley relay team that placed fifth at WAC Indoor Championships.
 
2009 (Cross Country): Competed in four of seven meets...placed fourth overall with a time of 18:41 at the season-opening HPU Invitational…finished 58th overall at the Santa Clara Invitational…competed in the WAC Championships finishing 41st overall with a time of 21:09…named academic all-WAC for the second year in a row.

2009 (Track): Seasonal-best 4:50.42 in the 1500-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invitational...placed eighth in the 800-meters and 13th in the 1500-meters at the WAC Outdoor Championships...placed 12th in the mile at the WAC Indoor Championships...named academic all-WAC.

2008 (Cross Country): Competed in six of seven meets...team’s top finisher in five meets...posted team’s top 5K time of 18:45 at the Santa Clara Invitational...placed second at the season-opening Chaminade Invitational...placed 11th at the Hawai‘i Pacific Invitational and 12th at the Big Wave Invitational...named academic all-WAC.

2008 (Track): Competed during the outdoor season...placed eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase and 26th in the 5000-meter at the WAC Outdoor Championship...did not compete during the indoor season.

Prior To UH: Attended the University of San Diego for one year...named team most valuable player for the cross country team.

Prep: A 2006 graduate of El Camino High School in Oceanside, Calif...lettered four times in cross country and three times in track and field...named to all-league, all-north county, and all-CIF for four years in cross country...had a school-record state finish...member of all-north county cross country championship team for four years...honor roll student.

Personal: Born in Lima, Peru...has two brothers...parents are Marcelo and Teresa Monasi of Oceanside, Calif.
