2001 (JUNIOR): Enjoyed a fine debut season for the Warriors, earning All-MPSF first team honors at libero…appeared in all 98 games, leading the team in digs (213) and digs per game (2.17)…also had a kill and 16 assists…had eight double-digit digs performances…had season-high 18 digs against UCLA (Jan. 19).

JUNIOR COLLEGE: A two-year letterman at Santa Barbara City College…played outside hitter for head coach Melody Parker… named second team all-league…in his first year, led team to semifinals of Southcoast Junior College Tournament.

PREP: A 1994 graduate of Maui High School…earned three letters in volleyball…named first team all-MIL in his senior year and second team all-league during his junior season…coached by Sheryl Hoopii…graduated cum laude and was a member of the environmental club.

PERSONAL:  Born Vernon Keoni Podlewski on Nov. 14, 1976, in Wailuku, Maui…plans to major in environmental studies…enjoys the outdoors, including going to the beach and mountain biking…favorite athlete is Michael Jordan…other favorites include the color red, teriyaki beef, reggae music, and the movie “Good Will Hunting”…also recruited by UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Northridge…has three brothers and one sister…parents are Dornamae and Stanley Podlewski of Wailuku, Maui.
