2001 (SOPHOMORE): Reserve played in 25 games, finishing second on the squad with 71 assists, and 2.84 assists per game…also had seven digs and four blocks assists…had a career-high 51 assists against Long Beach State (Feb. 15)…recorded 18 assists at UC San Diego (Feb. 13).

2000 (FRESHMAN): Saw limited action in 10 matches as a back up setter…filled in for an injured Stefan Krejci at USC (March 4) and recorded a career-high 42 assists and three digs.

PREP: A 1999 graduate of Carpinteria High School in California…earned four varsity letters in volleyball…named to the Frontier League second team as a junior…in his senior year, earned first team all-Frontier League accolades leading Carpinteria to the league championship…coached by Dahill Johnson.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 16, 1981, in Playa Del Rey, Calif.…enjoys playing beach volleyball, surfing and going to the beach…lists his biggest athletic thrill as finishing the Frontier League with an undefeated 10-0 record in 1999… favorites include Mexican food, the movie “Varsity Blues” and the book The Partner…would like to meet boxing great Muhammad Ali…father and uncle played professional volleyball…has two brothers and two sisters…parents are Lori and Marc Denitz of Carpinteria, Calif.
