Biography

2010 (Senior): Started 21 of 23 matches at middle blocker…appeared in 79 sets…averaged 1.34 kills and 0.82 blocks per set…finished four-year career ranked eighth all-time in school history with 339 total blocks (25 solo, 314 assists)…season-high 12 kills in 20 attempts against Pepperdine in MPSF Tournament quarterfinals (April 24)…had seven kills with no errors in 11 swings and hit .636 against Pepperdine in the regular season (March 27)…hit .500 or better seven times…finished the season with a .345 hitting percentage…season-high seven blocks in regular season finale at UC Santa Barbara (April 17)…missed six matches due to injury.
 
2009 (Junior): Competed in 97 sets and started all 27 matches…averaged 1.64 kills and 1.32 blocks per set…led the team with a .291 hitting percentage…also led the team in total blocks (128), solo blocks (5), service aces (22), and blocks per set (1.32)…tied for eighth in the MPSF and 15th nationally in total blocks…recorded at least one block in every match he played in and a season-high 10 against Cal State Northridge (Jan.30)...best performance of the year came against UC Santa Barbara when he tallied 15 kills on 32 attempts, including an ace, eight digs, and three blocks. 

2008 (Sophomore): Played in 93 games in 25 matches...led UH in block solos (12), total blocks (132) and blocks per game (1.51)...blocking average was the fifth best during the rally scoring era in school history...fifth on the team in kills with 107 while hitting for a .326 percentage...ranked second nationally and third in the MPSF with a 1.51 blocks per game average...slammed down a career-high nine kills on the road against Stanford (Feb. 27)...recorded a career-high 12 blocks versus UC San Diego (Jan. 25) in which he also buried nine kills on 14 attempts for a 64.3 percentage. had nine matches of over .400 hitting percentage, including 10 contests in which he didn’t record a hitting error.

2007 (Freshman): Played 13 games in nine matches, started one...averaged 1.15 kills per game...posted a season-high seven kills against Brigham Young (Feb. 24).

2006: Redshirted.

Prep: A 2005 graduate of Los Alamitos High School in California...earned three letters in volleyball...garnered all-Sunset League and all-CIF honors...selected to the All-tournament team at the USA Junior Olympics under coach Derek Lucero.

Personal: Born in Newport Beach, Calif...majoring in communications...has one brother, Jeff...parents are Victor and Nancy Grgas of Seal Beach, Calif.
