2015 (Redshirt Senior): Went 3-5 in his final season at Hawai’i with 12 starts…Registered a 4.17 ERA in 54 innings on the mound, striking out 27 while issuing just 13 walks…After returning from injury rehab in the fourth week of the season, stabilized the pitching rotation as the No. 3 starter…Made starts of at least five (5.0) innings in seven (7) appearances, with one of his longest coming on Senior Day against No. 21 Cal State Fullerton (5/17), pitching six (6.0) innings, allowing seven (7) hits and two (2) earned runs, while striking out a season-high five (5)…The other six-inning outing came at Long Beach State (5/3), holding the Dirtbags to six (6) hits, while allowing no runs, striking out one (1)…Arakawa also allowed no runs in home contests with Oklahoma (3/15) and New Mexico State (3/22), pitching five (5.0) innings in each, while limiting the Sooners and Aggies to two (2) and one (1) hits, respectively…In his final game, at Arizona (5/24), he made his 50th career start, moving past UH legend Derek Tatsuno (1977-79) to tie MLB alumni Bruce Walton (1982-85) and Scott Karl (1990-92) for sixth in the UH record book.
2014 (Redshirt Junior): Went 2-1 on the season in 10 starts...Posted a 2.42 ERA, allowing 13 earned runs in 48.1 innings, while issuing just 11 walks and recording 19 strikeouts...Was part of a starting rotation that ranked in the top 20 nationally in combined ERA...Tossed six (6.0) scoreless innings against Albany (2/21) for his first win of the season...Allowed just two (2) runs and issued just one (1) walk in seven innings (7.0) vs. Nevada (3/16)...gave up one (1) earned run in eight (8.0) innings vs. Alabama-Birmingham (3/22)...Allowed one (1) earned run in six (6.0) innings to get the win at No. 10 UC Santa Barbara (3/30)...Struck out a season-high five (5) batters in six (6.0) innings at Texas (3/8)...tossed 5.1 innings vs. Long Beach State (5/11), allowing just one (1) run on six (6) hits with four (4) strikeouts.
