2005 (Senior): Wrapped up the most illustrious career in Rainbow Wahine soccer history by earning her third WAC Player of the Year award and leading Hawai‘i to its second regular season conference title in three years….earned first-team all-WAC honors for the fourth straight year… tallied 15 goals on the season, including four game-winners…finished sixth in the NCAA rankings in goals per game (1.0) and 10th in points per game (2.27)…scored multiple goals in five matches, including a hat trick in 3-0 win over Nevada that clinched the WAC title…named to the Soccer America Team of the Week after that performance…also named WAC Offensive Player of the Week, an honor she won two other times during the season…named all-tournament for the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Soccer Classic and OHANA Hotels and Resorts No Ka Oi and MVP of the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Soccer Shootout…left UH having shattered more than two dozen school and conference marks including UH records for goals in a match (5), season (29) and career (72).
2004 (Junior): Picked to the watch list and later named a semifinalist for the Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy awarded to the national player of the year...also tabbed as preseason WAC Player of the Year...did not win POY honors but earned first-team all-WAC honors for third straight season...a second-team all-West region pick by both Soccer Buzz and the NSCAA...an OHANA Hotels & Resorts No Ka Oi all-tournament selection...voted the team’s MVP and Most Outstanding Striker...led the team in scoring for third consecutive season with 29 points...tallied a team-high 12 goals, while adding five assists, the second highest total on the squad...seven of her goals were game-winners, including three in overtime...broke her own single-season school record with 130 shots...also set new marks in the WAC for overall shots (130) and conference shots (49)...named WAC Player of the Week (Sept. 6) and garnered both Soccer America (Sept. 8) and Soccer Buzz (Sept. 8) Team of the Week honors following her three-goal, seven-point explosion in road wins over UC Santa Barbara, USC and Loyola Marymount...two of her goals were game-winners in overtime (at UC Santa Barbara and Loyola Marymount)... named WAC Player of the Week (Sept. 27) for second time in a month after leading UH to a 2-0 record in the Montana Fall Classic with five points (two goals, one assist)...tallied multiple goals in matches at SMU (Oct. 8) and vs. Nevada (Oct. 15)...scored both goals against SMU in the first half, including her first just 16 seconds into the match...goals against Nevada came on a second-half penalty kick and a game-winner three minutes into overtime...suffered a broken collarbone in waning minutes of UH’s finale against Tulsa in the WAC Tournament...ranks as UH’s career leader in points (128), goals (57), game-winning goals (19) and shots (328).
2003 (Sophomore): Soccer Buzz third-team All-American...gained second WAC Player of the Year honor...only second player in conference history to win back-to-back awards...first-team all-WAC selection...led the nation in goals scored (29)...set or tied 13 new school and conference records, including UH records for goals in a match (5 vs. Morehead St., Sept. 14), season (29) and career (45)...seven game-winning goals...scored a goal in nine straight matches...scored multiple goals in eight matches, including four hat tricks...four goals vs. Nevada (Oct. 10) tied a WAC record for goals in a conference match...during one four-match stretch, scored nine straight goals for the Rainbow Wahine...scored in 14 of 19 matches...missed just one match on the season with a sprained ankle, as UH lost at Oral Roberts, 1-0...named WAC Player of the Week three times (Sept. 15, Oct. 6, Oct. 15)...named to the Soccer America Team of the Week (Oct. 15)... all-tournament selection for the Outrigger Hotels Soccer Classic and the OHANA Hotels No Ka Oi...voted the team’s MVP and Most Outstanding Striker.
2002 (Freshman): Explosive striker completed record-breaking freshman campaign by setting or tying eight school records, three freshman records, and four conference records…appeared in 17 matches, starting 16…named WAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, becoming the first player in conference history to accomplish the feat...a first-team all-WAC selection..set records in points (23), goals scored (10), and shots in a season (49) and match (13)…also led the WAC in goals per game (1.25) and GW goals (4)…named to Soccer Buzz Freshman All-America third team, as well as Freshman All-West Region first team…recorded two hat tricks against Tulsa (Oct. 11) and Boise State (Oct. 25), both in conference play…named WAC Offensive Player of the Week three times (Sept. 5, Oct. 14, Oct. 28)…first Rainbow Wahine named to Soccer Buzz National Team of the Week (Oct. 29) after scoring five goals in two games during WAC play…netted golden goal against Wyoming (Sept. 1), Tulsa (Oct. 11), Boise State (Oct. 25), Nevada (Oct. 27), and Fresno State (Nov. 3)…went on scoring binge in last four regular-season matches (Oct. 25 to Nov. 3), tallying 16 offensive points on seven goals and two assists.
Prep: A 2001 graduate of Kahuku High School in Kahuku, Oahu…perhaps the top female high school athlete in the state…earned four letters each in soccer and track, two in volleyball and one each in basketball and cross country…a two-time Oahu Interscholastic Association soccer all-star…earned all-state and Gatorade Player of the Year honors her senior season…led the Red Raiders to the division title her senior season, the first title in the school’s history…played for the Hawai‘i State Olympic Development Program team…was selected as a holdover for the Regional squad...voted to the OIA East first team in volleyball her senior season and earned OIA first team and all-state second team honors in basketball her senior season…a two-time state champion and record holder in the 300 hurdles…also captured state titles in the 110 hurdles, high jump and long jump…an honor-roll student.
Personal: Born May 22, 1983, in Kahuku, Oahu…nickname is “Tasha”…majoring in sociology…has three younger brothers and two younger sisters…younger sister Krisha is a junior forward on the team...parents are Sharon and Benny Kai of Kahuku, Oahu.
