Biography

2011 (Senior): Played in 32 matches as a right side hitter...recorded 215 kills, averaging 2.15 kills per set for a .341 attack percentage...named First Team All-WAC...had double figures in kills in six matches...posted a career-high 15 kills at San Jose State (10/25)...had a season-best 12 digs to go along with seven kills and two blocks against Wichita State (8/27) at the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational...recorded 10 kills for a .588 attack percentage against Arizona the next night...recorded 13 kills and four blocks versus Long Beach State (9/2)...posted 65.0 total blocks on the season...had a season-best six blocks on two occasions (at Utah State, 9/24 and vs. USC, 12/9)...posted 12 kills in the NCAA Regional semifinal versus USC...also had 12 kills against Pepperdine (9/16).

2010 (Junior): Named to the all-WAC first team...started all 32 matches as a rightside hitter...second on the team with 2.81 kills and 1.01 blocks per set...named to the Verizon Wireless Volleyball Challenge all-tournament team...recorded 12 matches with double-figure kills...had 13 kills with no errors in 21 attempts against Idaho (Nov. 23) in WAC Tournament semifinals...hit .400 with 14 kills, nine digs and six blocks vs. Utah State (Sept. 23)... had 14 kills and 12 blocks vs. San Diego (Aug. 27)...hit .333 with 12 kills and five blocks at Idaho (Oct. 21)...hit .474 with 11 kills, six digs and five blocks at New Mexico State (Sept. 29)...had 10 kills and 14 digs vs. Brigham Young (Sept. 18)...11 kills and 10 digs vs. St. Mary’s (Sept. 11)....had 12 kills and hit .524 at Nevada (Nov. 14)...posted two double-doubles.

Prior to UH: Played two seasons at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif…helped Saint Mary’s reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2009 and the first round in 2008…named to the West Coast Conference Honorable Mention team in 2009...named WCC Player of the Week on October 5...recorded 10 or more kills 10 times this year...notched a career-high 18 kills on September 13 against San Diego State... against UC Santa Barbara in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament she recorded five kills on 31 attempts, for a .290 hitting percentage, with a season high five digs...against No. 4 Stanford in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament she recorded 11 kills on 36 attempts...finished the year third on the team with 251 kills, averaging 2.56 kills per set...averaged 2.70 points per set…named to the 2008 West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team...finished her freshman season with 10 kills in her first ever post season appearance in the NCAA tournament...played in 84 sets while averaging 2.39 kills, 0.65 blocks, and a .195 attack percentage as a freshamn ...in her freshman season she accumulated 201 kills, 37 blocks, and 55 digs.

Prep: A 2008 graduate of Word of Life Academy in Honolulu, O‘ahu…a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and three-year letterwinner in track and field…led her team to multiple titles, including an ILH Division II Championship in 2006...as a senior led her team to the Hilo High Pre-Season Tournament title, while also clinching the ‘Aiea High Pre-Season Tournament title as a junior...following her senior and junior seasons she was named to the HHSAA Division II State All-Tournament Team, was an All-State Selection by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and Honolulu Advertiser, and was a two-time IHL Division II Player of the Year...in 2006 was named the Word of Life Academy Athlete of the Year.

Personal: Born in Wahiawa, O‘ahu...parents are LeeAnn and Alvis Satele...Alvis played football at the University of Hawai‘i and had stints in the NFL and CFL...her mother LeeAnn (Pestana) was a member of the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine volleyball teams that won NCAA Championships in 1982 and '83...has one brother, Brashton, who plays in the NFL and another, Liko, who currently plays football at UH…is the cousin of former Warriors Samson and Hercules Satele, and Melila Purcell.
