2013-14 (Senior): Named first team all-Big West doubles with partner Nils Schuhmann...went 11-8 in singles play and 3-1 in the Big West...was 8-8 in doubles play, playing with Chris Meyer, Nils Schuhmann, and Chas Okamoto...won back-to-back singles matches against No. 39 Michigan and at No. 42 Pepperdine...had a four-match win streak late in the season, all sweeps on the road.
2012-13 (Junior): Competed in three singles and 19 doubles matches…predominately was paired with Jared Spiker (7-8) but saw action with Chas Okamoto (1-2)…three match doubles win streak (Mar. 10-15) with Spiker.
2011-12 (Sophomore): Finished season with an 0-4 record in singles and 1-5 in doubles...eanred doubles win against New Mexico State (Mar. 22) with partner Danilo Casanova at the No. 3 flight...also earned a doubles win in the Fall against UC Riverside (Oct. 20) with Charlie Rice...played three matches against nationally ranked opponents.
2010-11 (Freshman): Concluded his first regular-season with an overall record of 3-3 and dual match record of 1-0…went 4-6 in doubles, playing the majority of the season with partner Jonathan Brooklyn…competed in the ITA Regionals (Oct. 21-26), Hawai‘i-Stanford Classic (Nov. 23) [doubles only] and the Rainbow Warrior Challenge (Jan. 7 & 10).
Prep: A 2010 graduate of North Thurston High School in Lacey, Wash…finished in the top four in the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association high school tennis state championships in all four years of high school…finished third in his sophomore season and was the state runner-up as a junior…selected as team MVP as a junior and senior…ranked as high as fourth in the USTA Boys-18’s Northwest Division and 106th nationally…was selected to the Jr. Davis Cup National Tennis Team in Urbana, Ill., in August 2009…a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Born in Taegu, South Korea…a member of the UH Air Force ROTC…goal is to be an Air Force pilot upon graduation…has one brother and one sister…older brother Michael was a member of Gonzaga’s men’s tennis team (2007-09)…parents are Keith and Pok Nam Schuster of Lacey, Wash.
