2010 (Senior): Played in 11 matches and started in two at forward… recorded six shots for the season, all of them on goal…started against San Jose State (Oct. 8) and played a season-high 73 minutes in a double-overtime tie against the Spartans…also started against Fresno State (Oct.10), helping the team to its lone conference win.
Prior To UH: Attended Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J., for four years (2006-09)…suited up in 62 career matches for the Scarlet Knights…named team captain as a senior in 2009…played in first four matches of 2009 season before suffering knee injury and missing remainder of the year…concluded career at Rutgers with 14 goals and three assists … left school ranked tied for seventh all-time in game-winning goals (7)...as a junior in 2008, led the team and tied for fifth in the Big East with eight goals…also paced the team and tied for third in the Big East with five game-winning goals … named all-Big East honorable mention…also earned Big East Offensive Player of the Week, Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week and Soccer America honors during the season….key member of the 2008 squad that advanced all the way to the NCAA Sweet 16… team finished in the national rankings in three of her four seasons there.
Prep: A 2006 graduate of Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu, O‘ahu…earned four varsity letters in soccer…a two-time all-state selection….earned first-team and offensive player of the year honors after leading Warriors to league and state titles as a senior…also lead the league in scoring as a senior... played club soccer for the Honolulu Bulls SC, winning three state titles (2004-06) and the 2005 U.S. Club Soccer regional and national crowns ... a member of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) state team for four years (2001-05) ... also competed in cross country and earned four varsity letters in tennis at Kamehameha.
Personal: Born in Honolulu, O‘ahu ... graduated cum laude from Rutgers in May 2010 with a degree in business management…currently enrolled in the UH’s William S. Richardson School of Law…has one brother and two sisters.... parents are Les and Stephanie Gusman of Honolulu, O‘ahu.
