Biography

2011 (Junior): Played in all 33 matches at middle blocker...recorded 213 total kills for a .325 attack percentage...had 152.0 total blocks...ranked No. 18 nationally in blocks per set (1.36)...named First Team All- WAC...also earned AVCA all-region and all-America honorable mention honors...posted a season-high 14 blocks against Pepperdine (9/16)...had 12 blocks (four of them solo) vs. Long Beach State (9/2)...recorded 11 blocks in the regional semifinal vs. USC (12/9)...had nine blocks in UH's five-set win at New Mexico State (10/12) on ESPNU...posted a season-high 12 kills against Wichita State (8/27)...had 10 kills in back-to-back matches (Pacific, 9/9 and Cincinnati, 9/10)...record no blocking errors in all but five matches...had a season high 1.000 attack percentage (6 swings, 6 kills) against Fresno State (10/1)

2010 (Sophomore): Named the 2010 CVU.com Blocker of the Year… named to the AVCA All-America Second-Team… named to the AVCA All-West Region team…named to the all-WAC first team...started all 32 matches at middle hitter...led the nation with 1.67 blocks per set...named to the all tournament team in the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational and the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Classic...broke the school rally scoring record by hitting .917 with 11 kills and five blocks at New Mexico State (Sept. 29)...hit .522 with 13 kills vs. Brigham Young (Sept. 18)...hit .708 with 18 kills and 10 blocks vs. Southern California (Sept. 5)...broke a school rally scoring record with 16 blocks vs. San Diego (Aug. 27)…earned all-WAC academic honors.

2009 (Freshman): Named WAC Freshman of the Year and to the all-WAC Freshman Team...ranked 20th nationally and third in the WAC in blocks per set (1.33)…also ranked second in the WAC in hitting percentage (.343)…career-highs of 10 kills and 11 blocks against No. 25 Santa Clara (Aug. 29)...matched her career-high with 10 kills against UT-San Antonio (Sept. 11)...had nine kills and five blocks against No. 10 Stanford (Sept. 12)...had nine blocks against No. 25 Pepperdine (Sept. 18)...had eight kills on 10 swings and hit a career-high .700 against San Jose State (Oct. 9)...had six kills on seven swings against Fresno State (Nov. 6)...had five kills and five blocks against Nevada (Oct. 31)...had five kills and five blocks against Fresno State in the WAC Tournament (Nov. 24)...had seven blocks against No. 15 USC in the second round of the NCAA Tournament (Dec. 5)...had seven blocks against No. 8 Illinois and five blocks against No. 16 Michigan in two NCAA Tournament Regional victories.

2008: Redshirted.

Prep: A 2008 graduate of Eagle High School in Eagle, Idaho…lettered four years in volleyball, one at Columbia River High School in Vancouver, Wash., and three at Eagle…two-time Idaho state Player of the Year…Gatorade state volleyball Player of the Year (2007-08)…also earned all-state and all-conference honors twice…led high school to back-to-back state championships in 2006 and ’07…team won three conference titles (2005-07)…team was ranked No. 29 in the final 2007 prepvolleyball.com national high school rankings…earned all-tournament honors at the prestigious Durango Fall Classic in Las Vegas, Nev…also played three years for Club Idaho.

Personal: Born in Las Vegas, Nev…has one brother and one sister…sister, Robyn, was a member of the Boise State volleyball team…parents are Teresa and Edward Hewitt of Eagle, Idaho.
