Biography

2009-10 (Sophomore): Participated in the ITA Southwest Regionals in Malibu, Calif…dropped a straight set singles match to Otto Sauer of Loyola Marymount in the round of 64…along with a partner Daniel Llarenas, fell to Nick Northcott and Gautam Vaidyanathan of UC Irvine in the round of 32 in doubles.

2008-09 (Freshman): Went 0-6 in singles play during the fall season...went 2-3 overall in doubles...participated in one dual match during the spring season... teamed with Dennis Lajola at the No. 2 position to defeat  Arthur Surreaux and Jim Brouleau of New Mexico State (Apr. 17) in a WAC regular-season match.

Prep: A 2008 graduate of La Coasta Canyon High School in Carlsbad, Calif...a four-year letterwinner in tennis...played No. 1 and No. 2 singles....helped lead La Costa Canyon to three consecutive semifinal appearances in the league team championships...also a league semifinalist in the individual championships as a senior...a two-time all-academic team selection.

Personal: Born in Encinitas, Calif...intends to major in journalism...has one older sister...parents are Kristine and Robert Rubin of Encinitas, Calif.
