Biography

2011-12 (Senior): Named first team all-WAC…competed in 10 tournaments with a team-best 73.2 strokes per round average…captured first career collegiate tournament, winning the Kaua‘i Collegiate Invitational on his home island by seven strokes…became the first UH titlist in 20 years…shot all three rounds under par, including a career-best 6-under 66 in the final round for a 14-under par 202…finished no worst than 15th place in four career Kaua‘i Invitationals…named WAC Golfer of the Month of October…tied for fourth place at the Wolf Pack Classic with a 2-over 218 total…tied for eighth at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate with a 3-under 213…also shot 3-under 213 at the Ameri Ari Invitational…tied for 10th at the WAC Championships at 6-over 222…finished with four Top 10s…posted 12 rounds under par including seven rounds in the 60s.

2010-11 (Junior): Competed in all 10 tournaments...team-leader with 74.0 strokes per round average…team’s top finisher in seven tournaments…tied for third at the Kaua‘i Collegiate Invitational with a 4-under 212 at the Puakea Golf Course on Kaua‘i…tied for 14th with a 6-under 210 at the Ameri Ari Invitational, which earned him WAC Golfer of the Week honors…posted all three rounds under par including a season-low 69 in the first round…also tied for 14th with a 4-under 212 at the John Burns Intercollegiate at the Turtle Bay Resort on O‘ahu…team-best 18th place finish at the WAC Championships (228).

2009-10 (Sophomore): Competed in all ten tournaments…ranked first on the team with an average of 73.9 strokes per round…led the Warriors by earning top individual in six tournaments…earned career-low finish of fifth place at the Kaua‘i Collegiate Invitational, where he shot a 209 (-7) and team-low round of 67…had two other Top 20 finishes at the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational (T18th) and the WAC Championships (T12th).

2008-09 (Freshman): Competed in all ten tournaments…ranked second on the squad with an average of 74.10 strokes per round…earned top-individual at the Kaua‘i Collegiate Invitational, UH-Hilo Invitational, and the WAC Championship…low 54-hole score of 212 at the Kaua‘i Collegiate Invitational and Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational…season-low of 67 at the Turtle Bay Resort Invitational…tied for 22nd at the WAC Championship.
 
Prep: A 2008 graduate of Kamehemeha Schools in Honolulu, O‘ahu…earned four letters in golf…team won the HHSAA state championship in 2007…four-time league golfer of the year…placed second at the state championship as a junior and ninth as a senior…scoring average in senior year was 69.4…averaged 69.0 during junior season...advanced to the semifinals of the 2008 Manoa Cup.

Personal: Born in Lihue, Kaua‘i…plans to major in business management…has one younger brother…uncle is former Japan PGA Tour member and 1990 Hawaiian Open champion David Ishii…father, Stanley, played football and baseball for UH…parents are Stanley and Cathy Kua of Lihue, Kaua‘i.
