2024-25 (Redshirt Freshman)

• Appeared briefly in 11 games. 
• Played in 18 minutes with a season high four minutes played in games vs. Life Pacific and Cal State Fullerton. 
• Recorded a steal in the season opener vs. Life Pacific and an assist vs. CSUN.
• Also had a rebound in UH’s road game at Cal Poly.
• Named to the Big West Commissioners Honor Roll

2023-24

• Joined the team in January 2024.
• Redshirted.

• Played two seasons at Southern California Academy, one of the elite prep schools in the country.
• Competed with and against the nation's best players and programs. for a squad ranked in the Top 5 nationally among post-graduate schools.
• Prior to SCA, attended Santa Monica High School.
• As a junior he was named to the All-CIF Southern Section Division 2A team, while leading his squad to the a league championship and a spot in the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
• Also named Bay League MVP and was a McDonald's All-American nominee.
• Was also an elite lacrosse player before deciding to concentrate on basketball.

• AJ stands for Alexander James.
• Father played college basketball at UConn and professionally in Greece for Olympiacos, while his mother played lacrosse, basketball, and soccer at Loyola University Maryland.
• Older brother Rip played basketball for Seattle U.
• Parents are Greg Economou and Betsy Given of Los Angeles, Calif.
