Biography

2021:
  • Selected to the All-Mountain West first team
  • Led the Mountain West and ranked fourth nationally with five interceptions
  • Second on the team in tackles (100), sacks (4.0) and tackles-for-loss (8.5).
  • Led the team in QB hurries(8).
  • One just two defensive players to start all 13 games, playing the hybrid linebacker/safety position.
  • Played a pivotal role in UH’s upset over nationally-ranked Fresno State with two interceptions, a forced fumble, nine tackles, and a sack.
  • Named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player, the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Player of the Week and  Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for his performance.

  • Had at least one tackle-for-loss in six games of nine games.
  • Tallied 11 tackles and 2.0 TFLs in UH’s win over previously undefeated Nevada.
  • Set single-game highs in tackles (14), tackles-for-loss (3) and sacks (2) in UH’s New Mexico Bowl win over Houston.
  • His 14-yard sack of Clayton Tune late in the fourth-quarter helped cement the UH win.

2019 (Sophomore):

  • Played in all 15 games with 12 starts at safety.
  • Led the team in tackles (83) and solo wrap-ups (61).
  • Had at least seven tackles in eight games, including in each of the last four.
  • Registered a career-high 10 tackles, all of them solo, versus BYU in the SoFi Hawai‘i Bowl. 
  • Also picked off two passes against BYU, including an interception in the final minute that helped seal the win for the Warriors.
  • Named to the AP All-Bowl team for his performance against the Cougars.
  • Earned UH Scholar-Athlete Award.
  • Earned academic all-MW honors.

2018 (Freshman):

  • True freshman played in all 14 games at nickelback, safety and on special teams.
  • Recorded 40 wrap-ups with 35 solo tackles.
