2013 (Senior): Named honorable mention all-MW…a second-team all-MW pick by Phil Steele…a second-team all-MW pick by College Sports Madness…started all 12 games at linebacker, 11 at weak-side backer and one at middle backer…ranked second on the team with 73 total tackles, including 13.5 for loss, three sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, one quarterback hurry, one forced fumble, and one safety…tied career-high of 10 tackles against Colorado State (Oct. 26) and at Nevada (Sept. 21)…also had three tackles for loss and one sack against Nevada…had seven tackles and three for loss at Utah State (Nov. 2)…posted second career interception in loss to Fresno State (Sept. 28)…recovered a fumble at Wyoming (Nov. 23)…had nine tackles at UNLV (Oct. 12)…a preseason all-MW second team pick by Athlon and Phil Steele…named to the preseason watch list for the CFPA Linebacker Trophy…started 33 career games with 199 total tackles, including 42.5 for loss, and 16 sacks.
 
2012 (Junior): Appeared and started 11 games at “SAM” or “WILL” backer…named to Phil Steele’s all-MW third team…finished third on the team with 51 total tackles, including 13.5 for loss, four sacks, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble…tied for 31st nationally and first in the MW in tackles for loss…recorded seven tackles, including five for loss and two sacks against South Alabama (Dec. 1)…career-high 10 tackles at Air Force (Nov. 16)…finished with six tackles and one forced fumble at Colorado State (Oct. 27)...recorded sacks against Boise State (Nov. 10) and UNLV (Nov. 24).

2011 (Sophomore): Played in all 13 games, including 10 starts at linebacker and defensive end…finished fourth on the team with 61 total tackles…led the team with 14.5 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks…also recorded one interception, three forced fumbles and five quarterback hurries…ranked third in the WAC and 24th nationally in sacks and fourth in the WAC and 55th nationally in tackles for loss…had five tackles and one interception against Colorado (Sept. 3)…recorded five tackles, along with two sacks and two quarterback hurries, at Louisiana Tech (Oct. 1)…set a career-high with seven tackles, including one sack, at San Jose State (Oct. 14)…also recorded seven tackles and one sack against Fresno State (Nov. 19)…had forced fumbles against UC Davis (Sept. 24), Utah State (Nov. 5) and at Nevada (Nov. 12).

2010 (Freshman): Appeared in five games as a linebacker and special teams member.

2009: Redshirted.

Prep: A 2008 graduate of Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, O‘ahu...played two years of varsity football...helped lead Mules to the 2007 state championship....team also won league championship...earned first-team all-league and all-state honors as an outside linebacker....one of the top linebacker recruits in the state of Hawai‘i...also played three years of basketball...all-league in basketball as a junior and senior.

Personal: Born in California...majoring in sociology...has one brother and two sisters...older brother Clayton is a former UH offensive lineman...cousin of current Rainbow Warrior Marcus Langkilde...parents are Art and Apollo Laurel of Wahiawa, O‘ahu.
