KAHUKU, O'ahu – The Hawaiʻi women's cross country team kicked off the 2026 season in dominant fashion on Saturday morning, capturing their sixth consecutive team title at the Big Wave Invitational.
 
Competing at Kahuku Golf Course for the first time since 2024, the Rainbow Wahine swept the top six individual spots to finish with a perfect team score of 15 points.
 
Mikaella Martin led the charge for Hawaiʻi, winning the individual 5k title with a time of 18:34.30. She was followed closely by teammate Emily Castles, who secured runner-up honors in 18:46.50 in her Rainbow Wahine debut. Freshman Atarah Robinson took third place with a time of 18:54.40 in her first collegiate race, while Zola O'Donnell (19:08.40) and Lucy Becker (19:09.70) crossed the line in fourth and fifth, respectively, to complete the flawless 15-point scoring sheet.
 
Highlighting the incredible depth of this year's roster, Kira Moe completed the front-of-the-pack sweep by finishing sixth overall with a time of 19:50.80. Harriet Greentree also turned in a strong top-10 performance for UH, placing ninth overall at 20:55.20.
 
The Rainbow Wahine return to action Sept. 19 when they take their first road trip of the year to the UCR Invitational in Riverside, Calif.
