LAS VEGAS – Hawaiʻi cross country runner Atarah Robinson swept the Mountain West weekly awards Tuesday, earning recognition as both the MW Athlete of the Week and MW Freshman of the Week.
 
This selection marks the second time Robinson has been named MW Freshman of the Week this season, following her initial award after the season-opening Big Wave Invitational. Robinson earned the dual conference honors following a stellar individual performance at the UCR Invitational 6k Invite in Riverside, Calif. The freshman led the charge for the Rainbow Wahine, navigating the course to secure an 11th-place finish overall with a time of 20:37.4.
 
With her performance in Riverside, Robinson posted the fifth-best 6,000-meter time in program history. Her front-running pace helped propel Hawaiʻi to a fifth-place team finish against a formidable field, with the Rainbow Wahine compiling 198 points.
 
The award underscores a strong start to Robinson's collegiate career, as she has placed among the team's top three finishers in each of her first two collegiate competitions. After taking third overall in her debut at the Big Wave Invitational to help Hawaiʻi sweep the top six spots, she ended as UH's top finisher at the UCR Invitational.
 
Robinson and the Rainbow Wahine will be back in action on Oct. 3 at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Ore.
