After a week off, the Hawaiʻi women's cross country team hits the road for the first time in 2026 when it competes in Riverside, Calif. at the UCR Invitational on Saturday morning.
Eight Rainbow Wahine will compete in the 6k race will begin at 4:15 a.m. HT at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course.
Hawaiʻi swept the top six individual spots in its season opener at the Big Wave Invitational at Kahuku Golf Course on September 5. They finished the race with a perfect team score of 15 points to win the event for the sixth consecutive year.
The Rainbow Wahine were led by top three finishers,
Mikaella Martin,
Emily Castles, and
Atarah Robinson. Martin finished first with a time of 18:34.30, followed by Castles with a time of 18:46.50. Robinson earned Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors after finishing her first collegiate meet with the time of 18:54.40.
Zola O'Donnell came in fourth in her season opener with a time of 19:08.40 while
Lucy Becker rounded out the top five with a mark of 19:09.70.
Kira Moe made it six 'Bows in the the top six with a finishing time of 19:50.80.
Following this week's meet, the Rainbow Wahine will be on the road again to compete in Salem, Ore. at the Charles Bowles Invitational on October 3.
