In his last three starts, he owns a 0.36 ERA with 39 strikeouts to just two walks over 26.0 innings. He has earned Big West Pitcher of the Week three straight times and ranks third nationally in hits allowed/9 innings and fourth in WHIP. TROPICAL SWARM
The Rainbow Warrior pitching staff finished the regular season among the nation's best in several categories. UH led the Big West and finished third nationally in the regular season with a 3.44 ERA. The 'Bows also rank in the top 10 nationally in WHIP (5th), hits allowed per nine innings (6th) and opponent batting average (6th). Additionally, Hawai'i is second nationally with seven shutouts - the most in a season by a UH team since 1992.
RAISING THE STANDARD
Hawai'i has raised its profile within the Big West over head coach RICH HILL's five seasons as skipper. UH is the only team in the conference to finish in the top five of the league standings in each of the last five years. The Rainbow Warriors have posted five consecutive winning seasons in conference play under Hill - prior to 2022 the 'Bows had not finished over .500 in league play in nine seasons in the Big West.
BACK IN THE BIG WEST TOURNEY
In its final year in the conference, Hawai'i will make its second consecutive appearance in the Big West postseason tournament. Last season, the Rainbow Warriors went 2-2 in the conference postseason winning a pair of elimination games to end as one of the final three teams left in the tournament in Fullerton, Calif.
» Beat UC Santa Barbara in a single elimination game to begin the tournament, winning 6-2 against this year's ace for the Gauchos, Jackson Flora.
» Eliminated Cal State Fullerton with a 16-4 victory over the Titans two days later.
» Fell to eventual tournament champion Cal Poly, 2-1, in an elimination game Saturday afternoon.

The Hawai'i pitching staff has been one of the nation's best over the last three years under pitching coach
Keith Zuniga. UH is one of just four teams currently in the top 20 nationally in ERA to also finish inside the top 20 each of the last two years.
