2025-26 Men's Basketball Season In Review

2026 Big West Champs

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Rainbow Warriors captured the Big West Tournament title in the program’s final season in the conference.
  • The ‘Bows earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament, the program's sixth all-time appearance and the first in 10 years.
  • UH finished 24-9 overall for its third 20-win season in the last four years. The 24 wins were tied for the fourth most in school history.
  • Hawai‘i started the season by capturing its second straight and 17th overall OUTRIGGER Rainbow Classic Championship.
  • The Rainbow Classic win set the tone for a dominating season at the Stan Sheriff Center, where UH went 16-3 on the year. UH extended a home win streak to 11 games and won its home games by an average of 15.2 scoring points.
  • UH set a single-season record for points scored (2,626) while its 79.6 points per game was its second-highest scoring average in more than five decades.
  • The ‘Bows won 14 games by double digits, including nine wins by 20 or more points and five by 30 or more.
  • Among the wins was a 43-point victory at UC Riverside, which marked the largest win ever for the program on the road. It was also the largest margin of victory ever in a conference game, both home and away.
  • Senior center Isaac Johnson earned NABC All-District first-team honors after leading the team in scoring, blocked shots, and free-throw percentage. It was the first time in 10 years that a UH player earned all-district accolades.
  • Johnson was also a first-team All-Big West selection and was named the Big West Championship MVP after leading UH to its first tournament title since 2016.

BIG WEST CHAMPIONS

2026 Men's Basketball Big West Tournament Champions

Hawai‘i entered the 2026 Big West Tournament as the No. 2 seed and delivered one of the program’s most memorable postseason runs. After a convincing semifinal win over Cal State Fullerton, the Rainbow Warriors faced top-seeded UC Irvine in the championship and showcased their defensive identity and composure down the stretch. Hawai‘i secured a 71–64 victory to claim the Big West title—its first since 2016. The championship earned the ‘Bows the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, marking a return to national relevance for the program.
