TROPICAL SWARM
The Rainbow Warrior pitching staff remains among the national leaders in several statistical categories. UH is second in the Big West and ranks fourth nationally with a 3.37 ERA. STACKING SERIES WINS
Hawai'i heads into its series at Cal State Bakersfield having won three of its last four series. UH has taken two games out of three against UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine in the last four weeks - all three teams are currently in the top half of the Big West standings. Last weekend, the Rainbow Warriors snapped a streak of nine consecutive losses and six straight series losses to UC Irvine when they took two out of three games from the Anteaters.
» Series wins over UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Fullerton, the teams currently second and fourth in the Big West standings.
» UH has already played five of the top six teams in the conference, going a combined 7-8 against them.
» Three of UH's final four conference series are against teams below them in the standings.
» Hawai'i comes into the weekend in seventh place in the Big West, but just one game behind fifth place. The top five teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the Big West postseason.
STARTING TO SWING IT
Hawai'i has started to heat up offensively in recent games after struggling to find a rhythm throughout the season. Prior to this recent eight-game stretch, the Rainbow Warriors were hitting .227 as a team and averaging just 4.5 runs and 7.3 hits per game.
» Batting .293 with runners in scoring position in conference games, 30 points higher than the team's average with RISP in all games of .263.
