HONOLULU – Hawai'i will close out its 16-game homestand to open the season when it hosts Chaminade on Tuesday at Les Murakami Stadium.
The Rainbow Warriors will look to get back on the winning track against the Silverswords before they embark on a six-game road trip that begins Friday through Sunday at Long Beach State. The 'Bows and Silverswords have met three times since Chaminade brought its baseball program back in 2024, with UH winning all three matchups.

DID YOU KNOW?
Hawai'i is one of just five teams who have finished in the top 20 nationally in ERA in 2024 and 2025 to also be in the top 20 this year through the first month of the season. UH joins Arkansas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and UC Santa Barbara as teams to accomplish that feat.
D-TWOSDAYS
The Rainbow Warriors will take on Chaminade in the first of three games this season against the local Division II programs in the state. This marks the third consecutive year that UH will play all three Division II schools in Hawai'i. The 'Bows have won their last 16 games against the Division II teams dating back to 2016 and own a combined record of 153-23 against Chaminade, Hawai'i Pacific and Hawai'i Hilo. UH will host the Sharks on Mar. 25 and will play the Vulcans on Apr. 29.
TROPICAL SWARM
The Rainbow Warrior pitching staff remains among the national leaders in a number of categories. UH is 17th in the country with a 3.17 ERA and eighth in walks allowed per nine innings (2.72). The 'Bows also sit in the top 25 nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (16th), WHIP (24th), shutouts (10th) and walk percentage (8th). Additionally, Hawai'i has held opponents to three or fewer runs in eight of the 15 games, and six or fewer hits six times.
MAGINIFICENT MAGS
Isaiah Magdaleno has solidified himself as the ace of the Rainbow Warrior pitching staff through the first month of the season. The junior made the move from closer last year, to Friday night starter this year and has posted a 3.70 ERA over 24.1 innings with 29 strikeouts to just eight walks in four starts. Magdaleno has worked at least five innings in all four outings and has given up just 16 hits all year while holding opponents to a .184 batting average.
» Third in the Big West with 29 strikeouts.
» Named Big West Pitcher of the Week after striking out 12 over 8.1 innings of two-hit ball, taking a shutout into the ninth inning before giving up an unearned run vs. Ball State on Feb. 26.
» His outing vs. the Cardinals marked the first time since 2022 (Blaze Koali'i Pontes) that a UH pitcher has struck out at least 12 batters.
LOCK DOWN BULLPEN
When UH has given itself a lead, it has been able to lean on a solid bullpen over the first two weeks of the season. The Rainbow Warriors are 7-0 when leading after six innings this year thanks to a number of key arms out of the bullpen.
Tsubasa Tomii,
Saul Soto and
John Alkire II, among others, have all proven to be strong options in the late innings to either keep UH in games or hold on to leads.
» Tomii is fourth nationally nine appearances and holds a 0.82 ERA and 13 strikeouts over 11.0 innings pitched with just six hits allowed. He has not allowed a run in his last eight outings.
» Soto has a win and a save in five appearances with seven strikeouts to just one walk.
» Alkire II has finished off four of UH's eight wins and has two saves with a 3.48 ERA and nine strikeouts over 10.1 innings pitched. He has not given up a run in six of his seven appearances.
»
Grant Garman has 14 strikeouts to four walks over 10.2 innings with a 3.37 ERA in six appearances.
