IRVINE, Calif.--University of Hawai'i women's tennis player
Grete Gull was named Big West Player of the Week on Wednesday. She was the lone Rainbow Wahine to win both her singles and doubles matches as the 45th-ranked Rainbow Wahine defeated 51st-ranked Long Beach State, 5-2 this past Saturday.
This marks the first career weekly conference award for Gull. It is the first weekly award for the Rainbow Wahine this season, and first since
Ana Vilcek won the award last on April 2, 2025. Gull is the first freshman to win the accolade since Nelly Knezkova accomplished the feat in back-to-back weeks in 2024.

Sophie Rachor. Against The Beach, Gull won her singles match over Cecilia Costa in three sets. Gull won the opening frame, but fell in the second by a break. Gull then pulled away in th third to win in three, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 to help propel UH to the win over The Beach..
Although Long Beach State won the doubles point to begin the match, UH's No. 1 duo of Gull and Rachor defeated LBSU's Paulina Franco and Costa, 6-3.
