DID YOU KNOW?
Hawai'i is one of just two teams to rank in the top five nationally in ERA (4th), WHIP (4th) and walks allowed per nine innings (5th). UH joins Auburn as the only two pitching staffs in the country to rank in the top five in each of those categories.
TROPICAL SWARM
The Rainbow Warrior pitching staff remains among the national leaders in several categories. UH leads the Big West and ranks fourth nationally with a 2.88 ERA. The 'Bows are also in the top 10 nationally in WHIP (4th), walks per nine innings (5th), hits allowed per nine innings (8th) and opponent batting average (10th). Additionally, Hawai'i has held opponents to three or fewer runs in 16 of the 26 games, and limited them to six or fewer hits 12 times.
SAN DIEGO SUCCESS
The Rainbow Warriors have had success in trips to La Jolla to take on the Tritons. UH is 6-0 in its two all-time trips to play at UC San Diego, sweeping the series in both 2024 and 2022. Hawai'i is averaging 8.8 runs per game while holding the Tritons to 4.7 runs per game at Triton Ballpark. The 'Bows lead the all-time series between the two schools 11-5, including a 10-2 record dating back to 2022. Last year, UH won two out of three games in Honolulu to clinch a spot in the Big West postseason.
7-8-9 IS 'BOW WARRIOR TIME
After a 2025 season that saw the Rainbow Warrior bats conjure up some late magic, the 'Bows have continued that trend into the new year. UH has won five games via go-ahead scoring plays in the eighth inning or later, including a trio of walk-off wins. Hawai'i has also outscored its opponents 40-23 in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings and is 11-0 when leading after six innings.
MANOA MAGIC
Hawai'i has made Les Murakami Stadium one of the toughest places to play in the country over the last few years. UH is 82-35 at home since the start of the 2023 season and won at least 25 games in Manoa in both 2024 and 2025. The 'Bows have the third-most home wins among teams in the west since the start of 2023, and have also had some dramatic wins in recent years, with nine walk-off victories over the last two seasons, including six in 2025 and three this season.
MAGINIFICENT MAGS
Isaiah Magdaleno has solidified himself as one of the elite arms on the West Coast through the first half of the season. The junior made the move from closer last year, to Friday night starter this year and has posted a 2.76 ERA over 45.2 innings with 56 strikeouts to just 13 walks in seven starts. Magdaleno has worked at least five innings in all seven outings and has given up just 29 hits all year while holding opponents to a .184 batting average.
» Tied for the Big West lead and 16th nationally with 56 strikeouts.
» Matched a career-high with 12 strikeouts to just one walk over 7.1 innings vs. Fullerton in last start.
» Has pitched at least six innings in each of his last three starts, and has delivered a quality start in five of his seven outings, working seven or more innings three times.
HILO'S FINEST
One of the biggest additions to the Rainbow Warrior pitching staff through seven weeks has been junior
Hekili Robello. The Hilo native and Santa Rosa JC transfer has gotten the game two start in each series in 2026, owning a 5-1 record. He currently has a 2.48 ERA in 40.0 innings with 41 strikeouts to just seven walks.
» Named to the National Collegiate Pitcher of the Year watch list.
» Tied for the conference lead and 13th in the country with five wins.
» Second in the Big West in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.86) and third in walks allowed/9 innings (1.58).
» Has worked six or more innings in five of his seven starts, with UH winning all five of those games.
