Men’s Basketball Places Two On CSC Academic All-District Team

HONOLULU — A pair of Rainbow Warriors were named to the College Sports Communicators Men's Basketball Academic All-District team on Tuesday as Isaac Finlinson and Isaiah Kerr were recognized for their accomplishments on the court and in the classroom.

In order to be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and have either competed in 90 percent of the team's contests or started in at least 66 percent of the games.

Finlinson, a junior from St. George, Utah, started the year as a key member off the bench before starting the final 16 games of the season for the 'Bows. The 6-8 forward finished fourth on the team in scoring (9.2 ppg) and three-pointers made (34) while appearing in all 33 contests. He has earned a 3.64 grade point average at UH while majoring in human development and family studies.

Kerr, meanwhile, played in all but two of the team's contests while averaging 20.6 minutes per game. The junior guard from Palo Alto, Calif., averaged 6.4 points and 2.4 rebounds as the team's top guard off the bench. Kerr has gained a 3.94 GPA while majoring in psychology at UH.

The duo were key cogs in a UH team this year that finished with a 24-9 overall record while capturing the Big West Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the team's first appearance in the Big Dance in a decade.
