Men’s Volleyball Adds BYU To 2026 Schedule As Replacement Matches

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team has added longtime rival eighth-ranked BYU for a pair of matches, Wednesday, Feb. 25 and Friday, Feb. 27 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center as replacement matches after the cancellation of the NIL Tournament. Match time is 7:00 p.m. each night.

Tickets for the two matches are NOT part of the season ticket package or H-Pass. The ongoing "Serve and Save" $5 Wednesday ticket promotion will not apply.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will help support the men's volleyball program's NIL efforts. In addition, UH has agreed to make a return trip to Provo in 2028. Hawai'i was supposed to play two matches in the NIL Tournament in Anaheim, Calif., but USA Volleyball and tournament organizers cancelled the event last week creating this opportunity in UH's schedule.

Current men's volleyball season ticket holders will have first priority and an opportunity to purchase their same seats for the two-match series through Thursday, Feb. 12. The two-match package runs $30-46. Season ticket holders should log into their account to purchase the two-match package.

Individual tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Monday, Feb. 9 at 9:00 a.m. Individual tickets are $17-25. Individual tickets may be purchased at www.etickethawaii.com or at the Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center box office (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). UH students may use their validated ID to attend each match.

Anyone who purchases a BYU men's volleyball ticket, will receive admittance to the women's basketball games against UC Davis, Thursday, Feb. 26 and/or Cal State Fullerton, Feb. 28 that same weekend.

Parking is $10. Men's volleyball reserved season parking pass holders must pay at the gate however they may use their parking pass to park in their designated reserved area.

UH and BYU played a two-match series last season in Provo, Utah with the Rainbow Warriors winning both matches. The teams also met in the 2021 NCAA Championship match in Columbus, Ohio, which the Warriors won in straight sets to claim their first national title.

The last meeting in Honolulu occurred in March 2020, the week prior to the cancellation of the sports season due to the pandemic. The memorable two-match series pitted the nation's No. 1 and No. 2 teams with the second-ranked Cougars winning the opener and the top-ranked Warriors rallying to win the rematch in a reverse sweep.

The former conference rivals have played 67 times with BYU leading the series 42-25.
