Men's Basketball Travels To Fullerton For Final Big West Road Game

FULLERTON, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team plays its final ever regular-season Big West road game when it faces Cal State Fullerton, on Saturday, Feb. 28. Tipoff is 4 p.m. PT/2 p.m. HT at Titan Gym 

The Rainbow Warriors are coming off a hard-earned 78-74 road win at UC Davis on Thursday that kept them in a tie with UC Irvine for first in the Big West. Cal State Fullerton enjoyed a bye on Thursday night and currently are in a tie for fifth in the standings. The Titans have won five of their last six games and are also 7-1 in their last eight home games. UH looks for its first road sweep of the year while also aiming to keep pace in its quest for a Big West title.

NEWS & NOTES
  • This will be the first meeting between the teams since Dec. 6 in Honolulu when the 'Bows stifled the Titans to nearly 30 below their scoring average in a 69-59 win.
  • UH has won four straight against Cal State Fullerton, including the 69-59 win in Honolulu.
  • Cal State Fullerton leads the conference in scoring (83.7 ppg) while also ranking 6th nationally in fast break points (17.6) and 20th in turnovers forced (14.9).
  • UH's win at UC Davis gave them a 20-win season for the third time in the last four years.
  • UH won at Davis despite grabbing a season low 27 rebounds and tying its season low with 13 free throw attempts. UH hit 11 of those attempts.
  • UH went 10-of-22 from three against the Aggies for its most three-pointers made in nearly a month (13, at UCI, Jan. 29). This was after going a combined 8-of-41 in its recent home games vs Cal Poly and UCSB.
  • UH ranks in the top 30 in the NCAA in 5 categories – 3FG% defense (4th), defensive rebounds (11th), FT attempts (19th), FTs made (21st) and rebound margin (28th).
  • The Big West has achieved its highest-ever ranking in KenPom as the 11th ranked conference in the nation. UH is the highest ranked BW team at 110 (peaked at 87).
  • Following its game at CSF, UH plays its final Big West regular-season home games vs. UC Riverside (March 5) and Long Beach State (March 7).
