HONOLULU/LOS ANGELES, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's swim team closed out the regular season with a dominant 139-65 victory over Alaska-Fairbanks at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex on Friday. Meanwhile, on the mainland, the Hawai'i men's and women's diving teams opened competition in the Bruins Diving Invite at the Spieker Aquatics Center in Los Angeles, Calif..
Hawai'i 139, Alaska-Fairbanks 65
UH swept all 13 events against the Nanooks, powered by strong performances from Mia Blazevska Eminova and Gaby Kelly who paced the 'Bows with 18 points apiece.
The Rainbow Wahine's 800 free relay team comprised of
Brooke Bennett,
Quincy Key,
Esther Le Maigat-Lecou and
Lola Davison captured gold and set a new Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex pool record with a time of 7:33.10
UH also claimed victories in the 200 medley relay, as
Aziza Meyer, Blazevska Eminova,
Kailee Chow and
Abigail Fellinger touched first in 1:45.43, and the 200 free relay, where
Alexia Kovaluk,
Alexa Ozment, Davison and
Holly Nelson claimed gold with a mark of 1:33.57.
Blazevska Eminova continued her strong meet with individual wins in the 200 fly (2:01.68) and 200 breast, where she posted a new personal-best time of 2:20.48.
Several 'Bows claimed victories and set new personal bests, including Kelly in the 200 IM (2:05.19) and 200 back (2:01.90), Fellinger in the 100 back (55.91) and Meyer in the 100 breast (1:05.03).
The Rainbow Wahine return to action on Feb. 11-14 at the Big West Championship, held at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston.

Bruins Diving Invite
At the Bruins Diving Invite, Hawai'i's
Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo was just edged out to finish in second place in the 3-meter springboard event. Ramirez Tamayo tallied a total score of 695.50, with his best dive coming in the fourth round on an inward 2-1/2 somersault pike which earned him a score of 66.00. Fellow Rainbow Warriors
Oliver Wignall finished in eighth place with a total score of 543.65. Wignall's highest scoring dive was his third dive on a forward, 3-1/2 somersault tuck which garnered a 53.20.
The Rainbow Wahine held off UCLA by 2.55 points to win the women's team even with a final score of 281.05. The team event includes three divers who have two dives each on the 1-M, 3-M or platform. Individually
Individually, the Rainbow Wahine were led by
Macie Wheeler who finished in ninth place in the 1-Meter springboard event. Wheeler's highest scoring dive. came in the third round when she scored a 52.80 on a reverse 1-1/2 somersault pike. UH's
Lovisa Gustavsson finished in 11th place with a final score of 530.35 while
Avery Coates came in 16th with a 498.40 points.
