HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming teams swept Pacific Lutheran on Senior Day afternoon at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex. The Rainbow Warriors defeated the Lutes, 145-53, while the Rainbow Wahine earned a 136-72 win in UH's final combined home dual match of the season. The UH men and women won all 24 of the events against the DIII opponent on Monday.
It was fitting that on Senior Day, both the men's and the women's teams opened the meet with all senior relay teams both earning the gold in the 200 medley relays. For the women,

Kailee Chow and
Lola Davison combined forces to win in a combined time of 1:44.83. The Rainbow Warriors--
Tom Caps,
Max Gilsenan,
Karol Ostrowski and
Tim Brown touched the wall first in a total time of 1:32.18.
The Rainbow Warriors were led by
Eric Kupsky and
Victor Dagenais who both won three golds, while seniors Caps, Brown and Ostrowski all won two events apiece. Kupsky touched the wall first in the 100 individual medley (52.09), the 400 individual medley (3:59.64) and the 200 freestyle relay swimming the second leg (21.46) with a time of 1:24.20. Dagenais won the 50 freestyle (20.92), the 100 butterfly (50.62) and swam the third leg of the 200 free relay with Kupsky. UH's Caps won the 50 breaststroke (25.73 and swam the leadoff leg in a personal best split of 24.47 in the 200 medley relay. Caps also earned bronze in the 50 free with a time of 21.57. Ostrowski claimed gold in the 100 backstroke (51.01) and he swam the fly leg of the 200 medley relay in a split of 21.83. Reigning Big West Athlete of the Week Brown's two wins came in the 100 freestyle (44.91) and he brought home the gold swimming the anchor leg of the 200 medley relay with a 19.52 split.
The Rainbow Wahine's Nelson paced UH winning three golds in the 100 butterfly (55.92) and swam the anchor leg of the 200 free relay (22.75 split) and the breaststroke leg of the 200 medley relay with a split of 29.14.
Aoife Harkin captured a pair of golds in the 500 free (5:13.98), the 400 individual medley (4:32.11), and she earned bronze with a time of 1:12.49 in the 100 breaststroke.
Gabriela Kelly also clinched two golds, winning the 1000 free (10:38.07) and the 100 backstroke (1:01.21).

The Rainbow Wahine will host one final home dual meet against Alaska-Fairbanks on Friday, Jan. 9th at 5:00 p.m., while the men's and women's diving teams will head to UCLA to compete in the Bruin Diving Invitational from Jan. 9-11 at the Spieker Aquatics Center.
