Men’s Basketball Reels in Veteran Power Forward

HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i men's basketball added the eighth player to its 2025-26 recruiting class with the signing of another veteran Division I transfer. Power forward Jalen Myers arrives in Manoa with five years of collegiate experience, including nearly 90 career games on the Division I level.

The 6-8 Myers most recently suited up for Norfolk State in Virginia, helping lead the Spartans to a conference championship and a berth into the 2025 NCAA Tournament. He started 29 of 31 games for Norfolk and averaged 10.5 points and 5.4 rebounds, while shooting 52 percent from the field. The left-handed Myers scored 20 or more points three times, including a 22-point performance that propelled the Spartans into the MEAC title game.

"Jalen brings a wealth of Division I experience and is a winner having played a key role on a conference champion and NCAA Tournament squad,"  head coach Eran Ganot said. "He's a high-level competitor who's also an exceptional young man from a great family. Jalen is the exact type of individual we want in our program and we know our fans will love him as well."

Prior to Norfolk, Myers spent two seasons at UT Martin where he appeared in 49 games. In his first year with the SkyHawks, he shot a team-best 39 percent from three-point territory. Meyers  began his collegiate career at Texas A&M Corpus Christi before transferring to Hinds Community College in Mississippi. There he averaged 19.0 points per game for the Bulldogs in a season that saw him also earn conference MVP and NJCAA National Player of the Week honors.

A native of Huntsville, Ala., Myers was a first team all-state selection at Bob Jones High School and was ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 wing in Alabama.
