2024-25 Women's Basketball Season In Review

WBB big west champs

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

  • Finished 22-10 overall and 16-4 in the Big West.
  • Captured the program’s sixth Big West regular-season championship and third in the last four years.
  • Qualified for a postseason event for the fourth straight season, the ninth time in Laura Beeman’s 13 years as head coach, and 20th time overall.
  • Played in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament for the second consecutive season. 
  • Reached the 20-win mark for the 18th time in program history and fifth time under Laura Beeman.
  • Put together a 14-game winning streak during the Big West schedule. The longest since the 2014-15 season and tied for the sixth longest in program history.
  • Led the nation in 3-point percentage defense (24.5%). Also ranked third nationally in field-goal percentage defense (33.5%) and seventh in scoring defense (53.1 points per game).
  • Had four members of the program receive All-Big West recognition.
  • Laura Beeman earned the Big West Coach of the Year award for the second straight season and the fourth time in her UH career.
  • Guard Lily Wahinekapu became just the third Rainbow Wahine named Big West Player of the Year. The senior was also named to the All-Big West first team.
  • Forward Imani Perez was named to the All-Big West second team and the conference’s All-Defensive Team for the second straight year.
  • Center Ritorya Tamilo became the fourth UH player to be named Big West Freshman of the Year and first since 1995.

MAHALO SENIORS

Hawai'i embraced and honored a decorated group of seniors on March 8, following its final home game vs. CSUN. The UH senior class included Lily Wahinekapu, Kelsie Imai, MeiLani McBee, Hallie Birdsong, Mia 'Uhila, and Brooklyn Rewers
