BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i softball team (22-14, 8-6 Big West) travels to take on Cal State Bakersfield for a three-game conference series this week. The Rainbow Wahine and Roadrunners will open with a single game on Friday, April 11th at 11:30 a.m. HT and conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12th beginning at 9:00 a.m. HT at the Roadrunner Softball Complex in Bakersfield, Calif.. This is the second time this season that the 'Bows will battle the 'Runners. CSUB came to Honolulu in mid-Feburary to compete in UH's Spring Fling Tournament (Feb. 13-16). The Roadrunners defeated UH 7-2 on the final day of the tourney.

MARTINEZ SPARKS LATE INNING COMEBACK TO CLINCH SERIES, EARNS BW PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Senior catcher
Izabella Martinez earned Big West Field Player of the Week honors after leading UH with a .556 batting average. She was a team-best 5-for-9 at the plate with a double and two walks. She hit safely in all three games vs. the Highlanders to extend her hitting streak to nine-straight games. In the series finale, Martinez stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and no outs. She came through in the clutch driving in two runs on a single up the middle to tie the score at 2-2 en route to the walkoff victory.
Overall, Martinez leads UH with a team-best .368 average, racking up a team-high 42 hits, 10 doubles and 21 walks. She has a team-best .471 on-base percentage and a team-high nine multiple-hit games. In conference, she has upped her game, leading UH with a .413 average (19-for-46).
Martinez has done her job as leadoff batter in the UH lineup, reaching base safely in 34 of 36 games this season. For her career, she has started 136 straight games and 173 total games.
DEFENSE CONTINUES TO LEAD BIG WEST
Hawai'i's .977 team fielding percentage continues to lead the conference and is ranked 13th in the NCAA DI. Overall, UH has made 676 putouts with 246 assists and 24 errors thus far. At home, UH has a .981 fielding percentage with 739 putouts, 267 assists and 24 errors. Last week, UH did not commit an error in their home series vs UC Riverside. However, in away/neutral site games, the 'Bows have tallied 12 errors alone (7-away / 5-neutral).
MANOA MAGIC
The Rainbow Wahine have recorded 11 come-from-behind wins this season--including three walk off wins. Two came against Utah Tech. On Feb. 14th, UH was down 0-1 in the seventh when Millie Fidge came through with a two-run single for the 3-2 win. Two days later, Uh was down 2-5 early against the Trailblazers. Milan Ah Yat cranked a two-run, walkoff home run in the eighth inning for an 8-6 win. UH also had a mercy-rule walk off win vs. Jackson State as
Jamie McGaughey launched a three run home run in the sixth to defeat JSU, 10-1 in six innings.
In UH's last two series finales, the 'Bows have rallied to score multiple runs in the seventh to clinch the win and the series. Two weeks ago, UH scored five runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Cal State Fullerton, 6-2 to capture just its third road series vs. the Titans in program history. Last week, UH was down 0-2 going into the bottom of the seventh. The 'Bows 7th, 8th, and 9th batters all reached on singles with no outs and Martinez drilled a two-run single up the middle to knot the score at 2-2. Sophomore shortstop
Milan Ah Yat hit .500 (4-fo8)last weekend vs. UCR to raise her overall batting average to .306. She is second on the team with 30 hits and third on the squad with 21 RBI. She is also second best for UH with 19 walks, a .480 slugging percentage and a .415 on-base percentage.
THOMAS IN THE CLUTCH
Although senior third baseman
Liliana Thomas is seventh on the team with a .255 average (28-for-110), she has come through when needed most. She is second on the team scoring 17 runs while driving in a second-highest 22 RBI on the team. She has five doubles and five home runs thus far with a third-best slugging perdentage of .436. Thomas is second on the team with six multiple RBI games.
POWER SURGE AT THE PLATE
The Rainbow Wahine have launched a total of 26 home runs thus far and are ranked second in the league in total home runs and home runs per game (.72). Eight different Rainbow Wahine have recorded at least one home run this year. Sophomore first baseman

CINZORI TAKES OVER AT DESIGNATED PLAYER
Junior
Ellyanna Cinzori has reclaimed the designated player position, starting at DP in 16 games this year while appearing in 22 total games. Overall, Cinzori is fourth on the team hitting .286 (12-for-42) with eight runs scored and seven RBI.
A total of four Rainbow Wahine have had the opportunity to start as the DP with Cinzori amassing 16 starts.
Kolbi Kochi has started 10 games at DP, Millie Fidge has started seven games and
Alyssa Nakagawa has three starts at DP this year.
