Men's Basketball Closes Out Regular-Season On The Road

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team plays its final two Big West regular-season games on the road, beginning with a crucial game at CSU Bakersfield on Thursday, March 6. Tipoff fis 6:30 p.m. PT/4:30 p.m. HT at the Icardo Center. 

The 'Bows are currently in seventh place in the league standings, a half game ahead of CSUB and one game ahead of Cal Poly. A win over the Roadrunners would clinch UH a spot in the eight-team field of next week's Big West Championship in Henderson, Nev.

  • UH won the first meeting between the teams, 81-70, in a wire-to-wire win at home on Jan. 18.
  • UH has won seven straight in the series and all three previous meetings in Bakersfield.
  • Aaron Hunkin-Claytor has a 2.8 assist/turnover ratio in league play, ranking third in the Big West.
  • The freshman is averaging 4.3 apg the last four games, including a season-high six assists in UH's win over UC Davis
  • CSU Bakersfield junior guard Jemel Jones averages 20.4 ppg in league play and is the reigning Big West Player of the Week after scoring 37 points, including the game-winning shot in OT at Long Beach State.
