Men's Basketball Continues Big West Race On The Road

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team looks to keep pace in the Big West race when it hits the road for a pair of games, beginning with a meeting versus Cal Poly on Thursday, Feb. 6. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. PT/5:00 p.m. at the Mott Athletics Center. 

The 'Bows snapped a season-long three-game losing streak with a win over Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, while the Mustangs have won two of their last three games after an 0-8 Big West start. UH won the first meeting between the teams, 68-55, in Honolulu on Jan. 4.

GAME STORY LINES
  • The 'Bows snapped a season-long three-game losing streak with an 82-57 win over Cal State Fullerton last Saturday.
  • After dropping its first eight Big West games this year, the Mustangs have won two of their last three with victories over LBSU and CSUB.
  • UH has won the last nine meetings between the teams, including a 68-55 win on Jan. 4 in Honolulu. The 55 points was a then-season low for the Mustangs.
  • Cal Poly went just 7-of-31 on 3s in the first meeting. The Mustangs currently lead the Big West and rank 12th in the NCAA in 3FG/game (10.9) and are 5th nationally in 3FGA/game (31.0).
  • The series is tied 6-6 in San Luis Obispo with UH winning in its last three trips there.
  • UH has averaged 85.3 points in its last four wins. Conversely, UH has averaged 61.0 points in its last four losses.
  • Following its game at Cal Poly, the 'Bows will travel to UC Santa Barbara for a Saturday evening contest.
