SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (4-4, 2-0 Big West) fell short at San Diego State, 4-2 on Sunday morning at the Aztec Tennis Center. The Rainbow Wahine went 1-2 overall on their first mainland roadtrip of the season. 

The 'Bows struck early by taking the doubles point. On Court No.1, the duo of Peppi Ramstedt and Shenna Masuda downed SDSU's Liisa Varul and Gloria Alogo, 6-4. UH's No. 3 psit of Ana Vilcek and Nikola Homolkova defeated the Aztecs' Yasmine Kabbaj and Ninon Martinache, 6-4, to capture the doubles point.

In singles, UH's Homolkova secured the lone win for the Rainbow Wahine. Homolkova defeated Gloria Alogo at No. 3 in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6, to earn her fourth singles win of the season. UH's Sheena Masuda battled it out in a tough match against SDSU's Varul but fell in three sets, 3-6, 7-5, 0-6.

The Rainbow Wahine return home for a conference match against UC San Diego. The match will be played on Mar. 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
