HONOLULU – The No. 4 University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team concludes its three-week season-opening homestand with a two-match series against 19th-ranked Princeton, Wednesday, Jan. 15 and Friday, Jan. 17 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Warriors (4-0) remain unbeaten after sweeping their first two series of the season while the Tigers (0-1) dropped their opener and will be making their first trip to the islands since 2017.

The Majestic Culture and the Arts Association invites you to snap photos with the Lion Dance group from 6-7 p.m. at the 'Ewa side of the SimpliFi Arena concourse. Then, get ready for a mesmerizing Lion Dance performance during intermission to kick off the Year of the Snake. Celebrate the Chinese New Year in style, fans are encouraged to wear red symbolizing the color of joy, blessings, and good fortune. After the match, meet the Rainbow Warrior volleyball team at Gate B for some close-up interactions and autographs.

FIRST SERVE
- UH leads the all-time series 2-0 with both matches played during in-season tournaments.
- The teams first met in 2017 during the OUTRIGGER Invitational with UH winning 25-15, 25-12, 25-11. The teams met again in 2019 at the BYU Invitational in Provo, Utah with Hawai'i prevailing 25-17, 25-18, 25-22.
- UH has a 34-10 combined record against current members of the EIVA. Hawai'i has a 17-10 mark against Penn State and 17-0 combined record versus the league's six other teams.
- Hawai'i is 2-0 against EIVA competition this season after a two-match sweep of Harvard last week in Honolulu. UH will also play a single match against Penn State in March as part of the OUTRIGGER Invitational.
- Princeton opened its 2025 season with a straight-set loss to USC last Saturday in Los Angeles. The Tigers, who finished with a 12-12 overall record last season, were picked fourth in this year's EIVA Preseason Poll. Senior S Henry Wedbush and senior PIN Nyherowo Omene were named to the Watch List after being named first-team all-EIVA last season.
- UH won its second straight series to start the season last week, taking both matches against Harvard. The Warriors won the opener in straight sets and needed an epic comeback in the fifth set of the rematch to complete the sweep. Hawai'i erased three match points and scored the final five points to win 16-14.
- UH coach Charlie Wade and Princeton coach Sam Shweisky are two of the longest current head coaches in NCAA Division I-II. Wade is in his 16th season at UH while Baise is in his 15th season with the Tigers. Shweisky has led Princeton to two EIVA titles in 2019 and '22.
- UH has won its last eight Wednesday matches dating back to the start of the 2023 season.
- UH has a 117-11 (.914) record at SimpliFi Arena since the start of the 2017 season.
