TULSA, Okla.—University of Hawai'i tennis players
Azuma Visaya and
Diego Dalisay concluded their action in the 2024 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) All-American Championships on Sunday. Both competed in the Pre-Qualifying Consolation Round with Visaya capturing his first win as a Rainbow Warrior upending Washington's 108
th-ranked Cesar Bouchelaghem in straight sets. Both matches were halted because of inclement weather and moved to LaFortune Park's indoor facility in Tulsa, Okla.
Visaya, a junior transfer, held off Bouchelaghem in a tight first set that ended in a tie-breaker. In the second set, Visaya was able to edge Bouchelaghem out by a break to win in two, 7-6 (6), 6-4.
In UH's second match of the day, Dalisay fell to his second opponent from Duke in the All-American tourney. He fell to Theo Winegar, 6-3, 6-1.
The Rainbow Warriors will next head to the UCSB Fall Classic at the Arnhold Tennis Center from Friday, Oct. 4- Sunday, Oct. 6.
