Austin Machado earned ABCA second-team All-Region honors Tuesday after leading the team in hitting and RBIs in his first season as a Rainbow Warrior.
Machado is the first UH player since 2018 to earn ABCA All-Region recognition (Dylan Thomas) and the first Hawai'i position player to receive the honor since Kolten Wong in 2011.
The Cardiff By The Sea, Calif. native hit .351 with four homers and 48 RBIs while leading the team and finishing second in the Big West with 19 doubles. Machado reached base in 52 of the 53 games and ended the year sixth in the conference with a .473 on-base percentage.

A second-team All-Big West honoree, Machado also led the team in hitting during Big West play, batting .342 while hitting three homers to go along with 10 doubles and 25 RBIs.
