Following the best season for the program in nearly 20 years, the Hawai'i baseball team had three players earn second-team All-Big West honors while another four received honorable mention recognition the conference announced Thursday.

Jordan Donahue and designated hitter/catcher
Austin Machado led the Rainbow Warrior position player group earning second-team honors while
Alex Giroux led the UH pitching staff on the second team.

Seniors
Kyson Donahue and
Jake Tsukada capped off their careers by earning honorable mention recognition. The only two Rainbow Warriors to start all 53 games – freshman
Elijah Ickes and center fielder
Matthew Miura – each also received honorable mention recognition.

This marks the second straight year that Hawai'i has had at least three players earn first or second team All-Big West honors. It's also the seventh consecutive season dating back to 2017 that UH has put multiple players on either the first or second team.

Jordan Donahue, Second Team, Junior, Shortstop
- Second on the team with a .349 batting average and first with 68 hits
- Finished second on the team and fourth in the conference with 17 doubles
- Went on an 18-game hitting streak from Mar. 16-Apr. 19
- Hitting streak is the fourth-longest every by a UH player and the longest since 1998
- Anchored the UH infield with stellar defense at shortstop, making just six errors all season

Alex Giroux, Second Team, Junior, Right-Handed Pitcher
- Went 7-3 with a 3.43 ERA and 66 strikeouts to 14 walks over 65.2 innings
- Appeared in 21 games with five starts
- Gave up just one earned run over his final 18.0 innings pitched, striking out 20 while walking none over that stretch
- Posted an ERA of 2.80 with 44 strikeouts to only seven walks in 14 appearances in Big West play
- Earned Big West Pitcher of the Week honors following five perfect innings of relief vs. CSUN on May 3

Austin Machado, Second Team, Junior, Designated Hitter/Catcher
- Led the team in hitting (.351), doubles (19), RBIs (48), OBP (.473) and slugging (.516)
- Also seventh in the Big West in RBIs
- Reached base in all but two games this season and finished sixth in the conference in OBP
- Split time between designated hitter and catcher, with 34 starts as DH and 18 at catcher
- Hit .342 with three home runs and 25 RBIs in conference play

Kyson Donahue, Honorable Mention, Senior, First Baseman
- First on the team with five home runs while driving in 38 runs and hitting .304
- Became the full-time starter at first base and did not commit an error in 331 chances at that position
- Second on the team with 18 multi-hit games

Elijah Ickes, Honorable Mention, Freshman, Third Baseman
- Hit .280 with a homer, 32 RBIs and 12 doubles as a freshman
- First among all freshmen in the Big West with 42 runs scored
- Started all 53 games as a true freshman, with the final 50 coming at third base

Matthew Miura, Honorable Mention, Sophomore, Center Field
- Hit .303 while finishing second on the team with 41 RBIs and leading the team going 15-for-22 in stolen bases
- One of three Big West players this year and one of three UH players since 2002 with at least 15 stolen bases and 40 RBIs in a season
- Started all 53 games in center field and did not commit an error in 116 chances

Jake Tsukada, Honorable Mention, Senior, Infielder
- Third on the team hitting .337 with two homers and 38 RBIs while scoring 48 runs
- Hit .446 (25-for-56) over the final 15 games of the season and did not strike out in his final 44 plate appearances
- Started the final 14 games of the season and 23 total at second base while also making 18 starts in left field and four as DH.
