HONOLULU – Hawai'i senior thrower
Hallee Mohr earned Big West Field Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career Tuesday following a big weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Mohr turned in a monster performance in the discus over the weekend at Azusa Pacific, taking home the victory with a Big West-leading mark of 55.53m (182-2). She also moved into second all-time at UH in the event and remains the only athlete in the conference with a toss of at least 50m.
The Raymond, Wash., native also set a Bryan Clay Invitational meet record with her throw and sits in 29th nationally and 17th in the west region in the discus. Mohr also moved into fourth in the Big West in the shot put after reaching 14.28m (46-10.25) to place fourth in the meet.
Mohr is the second different Rainbow Wahine athlete to take home Big West Field Athlete of the Week honors, joining
Tara Wyllie who earned the recognition following the Hornet Invitational. Including indoor season, Mohr is the fourth different Rainbow Wahine to earn an athlete of the week honor, as
Alyssa Mae Antolin and
Lilian Turban each took home MPSF weekly honors during indoor season.
