Men’s Basketball “Island Heritage” Jersey Auction

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team is gearing up for an exciting week as they prepare to host CSUN, Wednesday, March 6, and CSU Bakersfield, Saturday, March 9. As part of these games, the team will don exclusive "Island Heritage" jerseys, which will be auctioned off to support the Hawai'i Athletics Scholarship Fund.

The virtual auction, accessible through UHEvent.com, will run through 10:30 p.m., Saturday, March 9. Fans can participate in this unique opportunity to own a piece of Rainbow Warrior history while contributing toward a worthy cause. Registration for the auction is free, and all proceeds will directly benefit the scholarship fund, providing vital support to student-athletes across various sports programs.

UH Athletics Director Craig Angelos said of the event, "We encourage all of our fans and supporters everywhere to participate in this auction to support our wonderful student-athletes. We saw great success with our 'Hawaiian Nights' jersey for women's basketball and are eager to continue the momentum."

The "Island Heritage" jersey emerges as more than just a piece of apparel—it symbolizes tradition and innovation, bridging the past with the present. As Eric Matthews, Director of Marketing and Fan Experience, remarked, "The great part of the 'Island Heritage' jersey is it's a crossover jersey. It's a nod to baseball coaching legend Les Murakami with their iconic color combination while giving the fans something special for the evening."

Additionally, Saturday's Senior Night contest will be a "whiteout," with fans encouraged to wear white. The first 2,000 fans through Gate A will receive a free white shirt.
