INDIANAPOLIS — Five members of the University of Hawai'i men's swimming and diving team will represent the Rainbow Warriors at this week's NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.

Mackaby Pennington qualified for the NCAA Division I men's swimming and diving championships hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. The meet opens Wednesday, March 27 at the IU Natatorium and runs through Saturday, March 30.
The 200 free relay is scheduled to be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. Eastern (noon Hawai'i time). Pennington is set to compete in the platform diving event on Saturday with trials set for noon Eastern (6 a.m. HT) and finals starting at 6 p.m. (noon HT).
UH qualified for the men's 200 freestyle relay for the first time since making back-to-back appearances in 1999 and 2000. The team of Ostrowski, Ksiazek, Meacham and Stoddard earned their trip to Indianapolis with a record-breaking performance at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships on Feb. 22 in St. George, Utah. UH's time of 1 minute, 16.75 seconds shattered the previous UH and MPSF Championship records and came in under the NCAA A Cut standard to secure an automatic berth in the NCAA Championships.
UH went on the sweep the relays on the way to winning the MPSF team title. The 'Bows enter the NCAA Championships as the 18
th seed among 25 teams entered in the 200 free relay. UH last qualified for a relay in 2019 when the 'Bows competed in the 200 and 400 medley relays.
Pennington will make his NCAA Championship debut after earning a spot in the men's platform diving field at the NCAA Zone E Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz. Pennington posted a score of 642.90 to earn one of the seven NCAA berths available at the zone meet on March 12. He is among 47 divers entered in the event and UH will be represented in platform field for the 14th time since 2003. Most recently Zach Lundgren qualified in 2021.
Pennington won the men's 1-meter title and placed second on 3-meter and platform at the MPSF Diving Championships held in mid-February in Mission Viejo, Calif.
